    Hello there,

One of our users has an Acer 720 laptop and when logging in outside of the office, has been receiving the error "The domain (name) is not available" In the past, it's never been a problem to log in to that domain profile even when not connected.

I just tried it with my Dell Inspiron and it worked, and there is not even a network card installed in my laptop. ???

This has happened before from time to time and I have yet to find a clear answer as to why. There has been no changes to his laptop or our network that I would think cause this problem.
Why would he all of a sudden not be able log in this way?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is the machine connected to another (home) network when the user tries to logon? Have you tried clearing HKLM\SECURITY\CACHE and CachedLogonsCount?

It is also possible to disable cached credentials using a local policy or the CachedLogonsCount (see above).

The user is not connected to another network when attempting this. I've set the CachedLogonsCount value to 0 and am getting the same error.

    :-(
