I have been using excel on this computer for almost 2 years with no problem. Lately, I have been experiencing issues with the clipboard (cut/paste) function. Many times I have tried to cut and paste and the program will crash and re start. Other times a message pops up that says cannot empty the clipboard but it will let me cut and paste. When I look at the clipboard it is empty. Now I am trying to copy a bunch of cells into note pad and it wont let me at all. Sometimes when I try to copy a whole row to another location it says that the picture is too large and will be truncated. Then the program usually crashes. What is the cause of this? What can I do?

    Thanks!!

Does this problem occur only in Excel, in all Office apps or in all applications?

FWIW I am posting this article .....

Copy and paste multiple items by using the Office Clipboard

As you are able to copy/paste from other Office apps I doubt that the Office Clipboard is corrupted.

However you best bet may still be to Repair Office .....

Control Panel > Programs & Features (or the Vista equivalent - never used Vista :)) > Change > Repair.
