"Cannot Load Alert Resource" error in Adobe Photoshop 5

"Cannot Load Alert Resource "

I have been getting this error in Adobe Photoshop 5.0 when I do a SAVE or SAVE AS. I can do anything else in Photoshop but when I try to save my work I get the error window and then I have to do a Control Alt Delete to exit the program. Nothing else works.

I started getting this error after installing the Windows SP-1.

I have tried disabling the ALERTER in the Services window - but that didn't work. And I have also reloaded Adobe Photoshop - that didn't fix the problem either.

After installing SP-1 I had problems with my identities in Outlook Express, too - I'm really not happy with this software release and wish I could remove it.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

You should be able to uninstall the SP.

Also, if you want specific help with that error, you will need to post the entire, exact error message.

 

That is the entire message "Cannot Load Alert Resource" - it's just a little box that pops up.

Is there an official uninstall for SP-1?
