How do I connect a xp machine to my Windows 7 home group? I have a D-link router connected to my cable internet. Both computers are connected to the router via cat5e cables. The 7 is 64bit and the XP is 32. Can I share media libraries?

    Hi Steve,
as pete said you can only run homegroup on win7 machines, but after you setup your home network you should be able to share media libraries
go to network & sharing centre on the win7 computer & set the advance sharing options
If you haven't set up home network? go to control panel, system, click change settings in computer name, domain & workgroup settings
there you can set workgroup which will allow you to connect the win7 to xp or vista, then go to N&SC to set the advance sharing options
You may need to turn off password protected sharing?

    Hope this helps
    Regards Jac
