I never had any problems creating an ad hoc connection using my laptops built in wifi so as to make a connection available for my iPod Touch or to visiting friends. My laptop is connected directly to my router via ethernet.
Ever since I connected a Roku box to my system I've created a problem that I can't undo.
A series of prompts popped up about joining a home group with passwords etc. I could not X out of the choices and now am unable to create an ad hoc wifi connection.
The connection is partially created but I cant share it with other computers as it wont connect to the internet.
I get error messages that say "The dependency service or group failed to start ". "Windows cannot setup ICS (Internet Connection Sharing).
How can I reset the Network Settings back to factory defaults?

    Hi El Conjuto,
Have you tried going into the network & sharing centre to reconfigure your adapter, Homegroup and use the trouble shooter?
right click on the network connection icon or access it via control panel
    regards jac

My adapter works just fine with no errors. I easily connect with the internet using all of my browsers. The only problem is when I try to create an ad hoc connection. I cant ad sharing capabilities to the adapter without receiving an error message "The dependency or service group failed to start ". This makes it unable to use ICS.

I always did that without any problems...Now i get error 1068 and cant start services like RAS etc. That is the problem. Does anyone know the proper registry defaults to make this work? I know something changed and need to know the Win 7 factory defaults. Thanks.
