Is Romona still a moderator at this forum? She helped me so many times with Netscape and then Firefox, and now,I can't seem to find her anywhere she used to post at. Just wondering if she still mods here or has moved on to something or someplace else. Thanks.

Ramona is no longer a moderator here. You can still get help here though.

I'd wondered about her, too. She was a big help to me several times.

    Hi All,

It's always nice to know that you are missed! I stepped down as Moderator due to health problems, and having less time to spend on the Internet.

I am recovering from a triple bypass, and actually feeling pretty darned good, considering! Will soon start cardiac rehab, and looking forward to the challenge.

Again, thanks for inquiring about me,

I, too, am happy to hear you're on the mend. I haven't been here often myself since returning to work full-time, but I still come back from time to time - most often to refer to help you provided me years ago (such as tonight)! Your help was invaluable to me when I was getting started with Firefox - I thank you still!

    Ramona

Seems I posted, but it didn't appear.

I just wanted to wish Ramona well and hope for a successful recovery.

You have helped me so much with Netscape and Seamonkey mail and profile migration.

I held off on the new SeaMonkey 2.07 as there are tricky migrations for multiple profiles. I had to breakdown last night and download it as !X versions were not working well anymore.

I managed to migrate the one with the download, but am finding the instructions for migration very confusing for other profiles.

I can't seem to get the instructions to work in XP "RUN "

I'm going to post this problem to the Seamonkey forum, but darn I miss your easy explanations and instructions.

Get well soon for your sake, but we sure do miss your knowledge!

Just curious. Some people use the term
, when they mean mail accounts. Which one do you mean? The profile is the entire thing, with bookmarks, password, mail, etc.

I did mean profiles in that I created accounts with the same names as my previous profiles that were .slt
The previous profiles contained bookmarks, mail, etc and so migration would hopefully bring everything as it did in the original default mail account when Seamonkey2 was downloaded and installed.

When the wizard worked it brought over everything from the .slt in the migration....I mean bookmarks, history, emails etc.

It took a while to work out the actual instructions for manual migration per Seamonkey's instructions but in the end it worked easily.
The biggest problem was "were the quotes necessary" in the string required to migration and also there was no clear indication of the spaces required in the string to make it work. Below is how my migration actually finally worked in the run program for manual migration.

    "C:\Program Files\SeaMonkey\seamonkey.exe" -P gloriamt -migration

    The instructions read
    "C:\Program Files\SeaMonkey\seamonkey.exe" -P "yourname "-migration
The quotes for the first part "C..............exe" were necessary, but the "yourname" ones were not necessary and it was discovered in another source page that there must be a space before your name AND one before -migration.

Once this was discovered it was an easy task to migrate all five other Profiles in the profile manager. History, emails, bookmarks all came across.

The one thing that did happen and I had help to find...............my outgoing emails blocked and stated that I had checked name and password authentication and it failed and I couldn't find where that was.

In each Seamonky "profile account" in profile manager as I opened them and went to mail and then edit/preferences/ outgoing server/SMTP the account was in there twice and I removed the one that wasn't default and in the EDIT there is a menu which defaulted it seems to asking for "name and password ". Once unchecked, everything worked without problems.

Just interesting as I wouldn''t have thought to go there in EDIT as it looks like something to add or remove the server information.....no idea of that check box or other information inside.

In partial reply to Gloria's long post, I must say that Ramona had given details for the folders' location. I do not believe that the quote are necessary in any case. At least, not for me. And, it is a simple matter to create a profile, and, copy/paste individual files, as needed. There are other ways, as well. I have migrated anything!

Glad to hear you're doing well

I certainly hope this message reaches Ramona.
I'm really glad to hear you're doing well after that triple by pass.
I know we are all praying so you can recover soon.
    Best of luck

Best wishes Ramona. As a 5 year survivor of a quintuple bypass and feeling as fit as a fiddle, I know it takes a little time to get back to normal. Took me 4 months to get back on the golf course. All the very best on your Rehab. Cheers Neil.
