Does anyone know if it is ok to bury a Cat 5e (gray) line.
Putting in in a casing pipe and burying it will be a bit harder work than I want to do in this Florida heat.
But If I can bury it directly I can use an axe to slice me a gap wide enough
Got go about 50 to 60 feet to my garage

    Thanks guys

    John32073,

I'm sure it can be done, but I would suggest laying some PVC pipe to bury the cable in. That would provide an extra layer of protection from the elements for the cable. Since your already digging the ditch, why not take an extra wack with the ax and make it a little wider? My thought is to take a little extra effort and do it right so that you're not digging it up in a couple years and replacing it. I can certainly understand the heat issue as it's been a hot and humid summer up here in the North Country.
