i have obtained a lap top under the home access grant which is loaded with built in security which i do not need. when i try to access face book i get the message internet explorer has stopped working and windows will now close the programe. ihave changed all the settings in windows defender and net intelligence with no luck. i am using the parent admin account which should not restict me. is there any way of deleting all the cr** that came with this laptop. i use windows 7. if i have posted this in the wrong place i appologies

    1. REDUCE STARTUP PROGRAMS
Reduce the number of programs that start up when you switch on the computer by downloading and installing the free Quick Startup. Not only does it check for the necessity of startup programs but it can identify ‘nasties‘. Get it here http://www.glarysoft.com/qs.html?tag=download

Similar programs are Autoruns here http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/utilities/Autoruns.mspx and Startup Inspector here http://www.windowsstartup.com/

    2. SIMPLIFY IE8 BROWSING
Reset Internet Explorer 8 settings, i.e. Internet Options > Advanced Tab and click 'Reset' at the bottom. Also in the Advanced Tab, scroll down to Enable third-party browser extensions and remove the tick > Apply > OK, etc.

All the ‘startup’ programs are ephemeral in the sense that once the required programs are decided upon, they have done their job and become redundant.
