    Hi folks,

    Win7 64 bit
    Scanner - Epson Perfection 3490 PHOTO

    I'm prepared installing the captioned scanner but w/o driver and software

    I found;

    Epson Perfection 3490 PHOTO
    http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/...=yes&infoType=Downloads&platform=All&x=18&y=8

    Please advise whether I need to download following software;
    1)
    TWAIN Driver and EPSON Scan Utility v3.04A
    2)
    Epson Copy Utility v3.30
    3)
    TWAIN Driver and EPSON Scan Utility v2.75A
    Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows 98

    But the driver for 3) above is NOT for Win7 64 bit. Please advise where can I find it?

    TIA

    B.R.

    There have been repeated problems with Twain drivers, both for Windows and Macs. An Adobe programmer, Chris Cox, posted the following on the PS forum:

    QUOTE:
    Re: Plugins and twain for CS5
    Actually, most of the TWAIN crashes are in the scanner drivers themselves -- that's why we had to make the TWAIN plugin optional.
    I've been watching the crash reports, and so far we have lots of crashes in the scanner driver code, and none in the TWAIN plugin itself.

    That's part of why we advise people to use the stand alone scanning software, so the scanner driver won't crash Photoshop.
