Resolved Formatting without disk?

    I have a netbook from Toshiba, they don't have a disk driver and buying an external one is not an option right now. Is there I way I can format the system?

    Welcome to WindowsBBS;)

    I think you mean the machine doesn't have a CD Rom Drive?

    You would have to take the Hard Drive out of the machine and hook up in an external case and then hook that up to another machine to format.

    If you then need to reinstall an OS - you'll need an experternal CD Drive.

    Which Toshiba Netbook?

    Which model number?

    Does it have a restore partition?

    If so, is it possible to reinstall the system from the restore partition?

    If it is, it should be possible to format the system partition while reinstalling (if that is what you want).

    Thanks Steve R Jones i didn't think of doing that. and yeah that's what i mean i was having some problem figuring out how to say the disc driver part.

    Christer its a NB205-N311W. it does have the restore partition but what i want its to completely format the Hard Drive.
