Can't access Status bar [Word 2003]

    The Status bar is hidden by another bar. How can I access it? My computer is GP Pavilion a1550y & I use Word 2003.

    Not sure what you mean by status bar...but alll the various toolbars can be dragged to different locations..

    Is you Word Window in FULL View?

    The status bar is the tool bar that normally lives at the bottom of my Word screen and accesses such things as Overtype, Page Number, Section, etc. It seems to have been covered up by the Quick Access toolbar which has the clock, temperature, AVG icons and so on. I access Overtype (the function that mostly concerns me) by going to Tools>Options>Options>Edit, but I shouldn't have to do thaz.

    I can't move the Quick Access bar.

    This bar is also sometimes referred to as the Task Pane. It took a bit of looking for because of the two names, but after a very good and fortifying dinner I tracked it down.
