By default Server 2003 will only allow 2 remote connections at the same time. So you could easily use three of more computers and have them connect to the TS machine.

I would use the "per user" machine as the test machine. If I'm not mistaken, when you use the per device license - you are basically "regersitering" that machine to the TS server.

Hi Steve, Thnaks for your inputs. In one of the server which licensing mode is se to per device i was getting an error " terminal license is going to expire in 5 days" then i changed the terminal licensing mode to automatic as per my another server. nOw there are no events generated in server eventviewer for terminal licensing. Now when i set the terminal licensing mode to automatic then which server is acting as Terminal server to this server..in future do i get similar error on this server.. Please help me in this issue cos i am not familier with terminal server licensing.

    Thanks in advance.

If you open terminal server licensing console you will show you who is this connecting to.
you can check dssite.msc also (click on site and check at the right side licensing)

you can open TSCC.msc and double clink on "license server dicovery mode" and at bottom look for the server it is connecting to for license "

per device TS will contack per device TSLS only.
