Firefox issues

Firefox is becoming a pain in the ass - 3.6 was creating problems for me so I reverted to 3.5 but now it is creating other issues. Specifically it doesn't remember user ID's and passwords and won't automatically redirect to another page as it used to. So for instance to get into my Google mail or Yahoo mail which I was able to do before just by selecting my favorites that I had set up, now I have to fill in my userID and Password every time I go in and when I log on I get the "FireFox Won't redirect" message to which I have to hit the "Allow" button - in some cases several time to get to my intended destination. What is going on? I can get there directly on IE but had historically made FF my browser of choice - now I am rethinking that with all the issues that I have had lately.

 

I don't have Gmail, but I know that Yahoo does not want to keep username/password longer than a certain number of days. And, the Allow button may be a nuisance, but it is a security feature.

 

try clearing your browser cache and delete the site cookies for gmail and yahoo.

 

Cleaning the browser cache and the site cookies seems to have done the trick. Thank you. I know that Yahoo allows you to log on for a maximum of 2 weeks at a time (as does Gmail) and then kicks you out so that you actually have to log on again. This I was prepared to live with (and recognise the security benefits thereof), but not every time I wanted to access my mail or finance.

 

I clean the browser cache, automatically, after each use of Firefox. I keep cookies till they expire. Obviously, cookies is not the issue with Yahoo.

I've got a user in my office that is having a boatload of problems and I can't figure out what she's doing because I never have issues, but I've always (or as long as I can remember!) had my systems set to clear out after each use. I'm going to try that with her system when she leaves for the day. I should really get paid for tech support, I've saved these guys a fortune over the years.
