I have been looking around for info on how to disable the common tasks bar(the thing with system tasks, other places, etc in it; the blue side bar). Does anyone know how to disable it, or even the name for it...I just can't find it.

Settings/taskbar and start menu. You will be given a selection of options. If you choose to hide inactive icons you will be able to customize your preferences.

Are you talking about this in general, for all folders, or is it that stubborn thing on the desktop?
