I know it is unlikely but can data be recovered from a re-formatted CF flash card? :(

    Thanks

There is a chance - a quick format only replaces the file system, but if the card has been used after format some of the existing files will have been overwritten ....

Try Recuva or PC Inspector Smart Recovery

    PC Inspector Smart Recovery
I used it many times successfully.

Thanks. Is there any hope if even a couple of pictures have been taken after
    the re-format?

Yes - at worst you may be unable to recover a couple or three of the original files. Give it a shot - I hope you will be pleasantly surprised by the result :)

I downloaded PC Inspector but after installing it I'm getting a Runtime 339 Error
that gif89.dll is not correctly registered.
I tried uninstalling and re-installing but it isn't helping. I think the problem stems
from when it asked where I wanted it installed to I didn't accept the default location
and I'm thinking it didn't like that. I tried using the PC Inspector 'smart recovery' via
Contro Panel/Programs/Uninstal/ but that didn't work either. ?????????

    Two options ....

See if you can uninstall all traces using RevoUninstaller and install again using the default location - can't see that this would make any difference if the option to install elsewhere was given. Use a fresh download.

    Try Recuva.

I used RevoUninstaller and downloaded PCInspector again and opted for the default
download location but it said there the PCInspector.exe file was there already! I tried
replacing it but I'm still getting the 339 error. I ran the Revo Advanced scan after the
uninstall so how could the *.exe file have still been there?
