I was trying to import my bookmarks from Firefox into IE8. Funny thang is, although all of my bookmarks in Firefox show up fine, I can't seem to find ANY bookmarks.html file ANYWHERE on the C: drive. So, where is the file that has all the correct bookmarks so I can import that file into IE8?

If you use FF3, bookmarks are saved in places.sqlite file.

You can go to the File Menu in IE8 & select Import & Export. Select Import from another Browser & click Next. Select Firefox from the list & click Import. Click on Finished when done. Your bookmarks will be shown under Favorites.

You can also use Manage Bookmarks and export html.

I have a .html file, probably because I am using the same profile, previously, used by FF2.
And there are backup files, and daily .json files in the backup folder. It is very confusing when the size of the file is compared. My .json files are about 80 Kb each, the .html file, a bit over 100 Kb, but the places.sqlite. is over 800 Kb. Tony T suggestion is correct, whether you find a .html file or not.

I will add that two profile, expressly, created for v.3.x do not have the bookmarks.html file, but can export bookmarks, as listed above. Anothher type of file which is redundant is the signon, or password file. A v.3 profile will have, only, a signos.sqlite file, but my original profile has signon.txt, signon2.txt, and signon3.txt. Again, the .sqlite file is much larger than the other files.
