Above All Programs in the Start menu I had a list of recently opened programs. There are none since I unchecked Privacy tabs and rechecked them, in spite of opening several programs and documents. What can I do to troubleshoot this?

    Hi Alicia,

Via the taskbar>properties> popup that your attached pictures shows, what happens when you click on the "customize button" and set or change, by one or two numbers, the display of the lists. Or for that matter "reset to default ". Don't forget to click "Apply " and then Okay your way out.

How many are displayed in the list? Delete a few: "remove from list" this is a right click option when used on anything in the list.

Keep in my mind that sometimes these setting changes take a reboot. This doesn't appear to be one of those option settings, since I just tested this on my own computer, but you never know for sure.

I changed the settings from 10 to 6 for number in list, and then opened an application. It appeared on list. Then I right clicked and removed it, and changed the setting from 6 items to 10 items. I opened another application and it worked.
    Thanks.
