I have an ASUS EEE PC 904HD with Microsoft XP Home SP3. About two weeks ago, the display began to irregularly stop functioning completely when starting up. I have to take out the battery and restart the computer each time. It also does this is the battery loses enough juice (>30%) However, when it is plugged up, it does not have the start up issues, but it still cuts of with low power. The display adapter is a Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910ML Express Chipset Family and the driver was updated twice, the last time being 3 days ago. Any help? Thanks!

Consider that the battery might be starting to fail. If it is anything like the laptops I know (I haven't worked on netbooks very much), look in the Control Panel or Asus listings in the Programs menu, there should be battery information to tell you how much "life" it has left.

Usually, a way to do a "reset" of the BIOS/CMOS, is to disconnect any power (power adapter and remove the battery), then hold the power button down for 30 seconds or more.

If it only happens when working on battery, check the warranty on it (maybe 12 months if you are lucky), if it is still under warranty, contact Asus and report the problem so that it if the battery is the cause, you won't have lost it while you are testing the source of the problem.

I have come across a few "unexplainable problems" that were fixed by changing the battery (where I work I can just take one out of another laptop that is the same model).
