Resolved Turned off desktop, now no graphics

[FONT= "Verdana"][/FONT]Hi, I hope someonecan help me. My son was on his pc, a Fujitsu Siemen Amilo Si3535. When he turned off pc, the monitor instantly went blank and has stayed that way.
Now, I checked all connections and they are good.I took the monitor from my pc and hooked it up, just to check and see if it was monitor, well, same thing, no signal from pc. Then I opened case, got power from power pack and fans are working.
What I am wondering is the pc has a lock out feature just above turn off option. How would you unlock pc with no graphics? If, this is the problem. Owners manual gives no reference to this option.

it has a on board Nvdia 9400

Did your son > Start > Turn off computer > Turn off?
Or did he switch off at the AC power source (wall socket) or Press the button on the front of the computer? Neil.

 

Disconnect any devices, take out any add-in cards if there any.

What is the status of the power LED (or is there HDD activity to suggest Windows is starting up)?

You might need to pull out and reseat cable connections (with the machine powered off, of course).

You might need to "Clear the CMOS ". Let us know if you want to try that.

Well, I turned off machine for the night. Turned it on in AM, heard a snap, and now it works. For how long, unknown.

Thanks for letting us know how it went (I would still pull out and reseat the cable connections, there might be a dodgy connection there somewhere).
