[Resolved] virus trouble

hi i had a power cut and when i restarted the computor i had a avg warning of a trojan virus the problem is i can not open my antivirus and when i downloaded the two dds programs i get a note saying they are infected and won't open what else can i do to clear this and find and delete it.
any help would be most greatful

Please download and run the below tool named Rkill (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com) which may help allow other programs to run.

There are 4 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.

Vista and Win7 users need to right click Rkill and choose Run as Administrator

You only need to get one of these to run, not all of them. You may get warnings from your antivirus about this tool, ignore them or shutdown your antivirus.

* Rkill.com
* Rkill.scr
* Rkill.pif
* Rkill.exe

* Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
* If using Vista or Windows 7 right-click on it and choose Run As Administrator.
* A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
* If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
* If it does not work, repeat the process and attempt to use one of the remaining links until the tool runs.
* Do not reboot until instructed.
* If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.

Once you've gotten one of them to run then try to immediately run the following.

Now download and run exeHelper.

* Please download exeHelper from Raktor to your desktop.
* Double-click on exeHelper.com to run the fix.
* A black window should pop up, press any key to close once the fix is completed.
* A log file named log.txt will be created in the directory where you ran exeHelper.com
* Attach the log.txt file to your next message.

Note: If the window shows a message that says "Error deleting file ", please re-run the program before posting a log - and post the two logs together (they will both be in the one file).

Close any open browsers.

Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

Close any open browsers.

Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.

If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.

Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.

When finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt"

**Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**

Make sure, you re-enable your security programs, when you're done with Combofix.

DO NOT make any other changes to your computer (like installing programs, using other cleaning tools, etc.), until it's officially declared clean!!!

i can't get onto the internet on the laptop now as soon as you click onto anything you get a warning that the rundll or the exe file etc. are infected and do you want to run the antivirus software.
my main one is AVG but what come up is AV security which i have never used and seems to give me more grief than joy.
i have also found out that someone tried to download some video from facebook that was sent to them from a friend which asking to allow a something for the flash player.

Download all three tools (rKill, exehelper and Combofix) on another, working computer and transfer those tools to bad computer, using USB flash drive.

hi i could not run anything in normal mode so had to do it in safe mode with networking and managed to do it that way i also had a mishap with the text from combofix as thought it would have saved onto the desktop.

hi sorry didn't say that when i ran the combofix in the safemode it asked to restart computer and came on fine in normal mode.

Note the space between the "Combofix" and the "/Uninstall "
Click OK (Vista users - press Enter).
Restart computer.

Very good

1. Download Temp File Cleaner (TFC)
Double click on TFC.exe to run the program.
Click on Start button to begin cleaning process.
TFC will close all running programs, and it may ask you to restart computer.

2. Go to Kaspersky website and perform an online antivirus scan.

1. Disable your active antivirus program.
2. Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
3. It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
4. When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
5. Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button:

Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
[*] Archives
[*] Mail databases

6. Click on My Computer under Scan.
7. Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
8. You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As....
9. Save this report to a convenient place. Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt) before clicking on the Save button. Then post it here.

hi done both things but the kaspersky gave no log but a warning that my antivirus was still working. i have had a look disabled most things on my AVG 8.5 but unsure how to disable the antivirus as option not anywhere that i can see.
but the scan it did do showed no threats.

OTL Clean-Up
Clean up with OTL:

* Double-click OTL.exe to start the program.
* Close all other programs apart from OTL as this step will require a reboot
* On the OTL main screen, press the CLEANUP button
* Say Yes to the prompt and then allow the program to reboot your computer.

If you still have any tools or logs leftover on your computer you can go ahead and delete those off of your computer now.

Your computer is clean

1. We need to reset system restore to prevent your computer from being accidentally reinfected by using some old restore point(s). We'll create fresh, clean restore point.

Turn off System Restore:

- Windows XP:
1. Click Start.
2. Right-click the My Computer icon, and then click Properties.
3. Click the System Restore tab.
4. Check "Turn off System Restore ".
5. Click Apply.
6. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click Yes to do this.
7. Click OK.
- Windows Vista and 7:
1. Click Start.
2. Right-click the Computer icon, and then click Properties.
3. Click on System Protection under the Tasks column on the left side
4. Click on Continue on the "User Account Control" window that pops up

7. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click "Turn System Restore Off" on the popup window to do this.
8. Click OK

4. Make sure, Windows Updates are current.
