    Go to Start>Run and type msconfig.

    Press enter.

    When msconfig opens, click the Launch System Restore button.

    On the next page, click the System Restore Settings link on the left.

    Check the box labeled Turn off System restore.

    Reboot.

    Go back in and turn System Restore Back on. A new Restore Point will be created.

    Note that all previous restore points will be lost.

    =========

    Launch OTL and click on the Cleanup button. Follow the prompts.

    =========

    That should do you :)

    Done! Only problem I am still having is the IE problem. I went to a couple of other sites before posting this and browsed around and it didn't happen. I don't think it would have anything to with this though.

    Thank you very much for your time and help. I really appreciate it, and this site!

    I thought the IE problem was fixed? Your reply in post 17 said it was fine.
    What is happening with it?

    I started getting the error that IE has encountered an error and needs to close, it started after running combofix the first time, and happen about 6 times. I don't get it all the time and when I do it is only on this site. It closes out the tab then reloads to the last page I was one. The last time it happened was when I came to read your last post, around 4:15pm central time.
    It hasn't happened since then and I had the window open here for almost an hour while I was on the phone.

    Other than that everything is running great. Plan on doing a defrag tonight.

    I also wanted to ask you if I would be better off using another free AV since AVG keeps letting this one through, and if so which one would you recommend?

    I personally do not like AVG. Personal preference is either Comodo or Avast.
