When closing a window/link in IE8 I often get the popup where I have to choose either:

    1. Close all tabs

    2. Close current tab

    3. Always close all tabs

What I really want to do is forget all the above and somehow make the default #2 (Close current tab) and never ever see that @#$% pop up again.

    Hi,

Do you not have an X in the far right of the focused tab?

Does not your right click on the tab have an option "close tab "?

Does the shortcut "Cntl + W" not close the current tab?

If using win7 and possibly Vista, does a not a mouse over ie task, on taskbar, show the tabs and have an X to close which ever you desire?

Ever used the "quick tabs "? See:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Using-Quick-Tabs-in-Internet-Explorer

All of the above work for me.

    goddez1,

Thanks for the education and the info on quick tabs. I think the X and the Cntl+W will solve my problems nicely.

    Have a great week,

    Rob
