    The moderator was probably talking about Not posting links on WindowsBBS that go to sites like you mentioned.

    You may be thinking of the standard advisory posted when Malware logs show that P2P software is installed ......

    while readind advised pages i came to know about :
    Avoiding the Scary Stuff

    Microsoft has put together a Protect Your PC Web site. The information provided for Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000 and ME is quite comprehensive but I will expand on the information provided about Windows XP.
    Windows XP includes a firewall, originally called the Internet Connection Firewall (now called the Windows Firewall). Check to make sure that your computer's firewall is turned on, even if you are running Windows XP SP2.
    +++++++++++

    i want to ask a question about firrewall:
    1) As i am using NAV 2010; it asks me to turned off window firewal! is it okay?
    2) Can you suggest third party firewall softwares?

    If NAV 2010 includes a firewall - Yes. If you are just running Norton Antivirus - No.
    Comodo is one of the best freebies - but be sure that you run only one firewall to avoid conflicts.

    We're not policing anyone's computer around here.
    We're simply warning people, that P2P programs are of the most likely source of getting infected.

    No they're not... Cruzing Pron sites and going to warez sites is far more dangerous, the P2P community is pretty bleedin good at self policing bad files you just need to read peoples comments it's pretty quick to be pointed out should a file not be what it's purporting to be

    Your probably best to use an DNS server that has some type of specific subject blocking like OpenDNS found here www.opendns.com

    Sorry, but I disagree. Yes, for the 0.001% of us 'experts' it may be true that it is somewhat safe, but even the 'experts' won't always be able to spot the backdoors that are incuded with software.

    Other computer users have no clua, and a lot of P2P files are infected, it is just a fact.

    Working with infected computers on several forums, I certainly can see what's going on.
