    Hello:
How do i identify a memory module without a white label on it???
it has 168 pins,2 side notches, looks the same as some "spare" SD 128MB PC133 i have.
there are 8 chips on it with Mitsubishi symbol and number M5M4V64S30ATP and TAIWAN 8379GOC-10
i took it out of a Softhaus Personal Computer to see, but there is not a label on it.
the system prop. says 64 MB in computer, and Crucial.com scan of Motherboard shows EDO SDRAM. Crucial.com does not recognize Softhaus name (former local shop) it also shows "low Density PC100 "...EDO SD RAM
motherboard is supposedly a Legend QDI P61440LX Legen X 8 {can not find number on motherboard) this scan shows Pentium 11 processor
i would like to upgrade to 2 sticks of 128 but not sure it could handle it. it has Win98SE program

Google - M5M4V64S30ATP has a few pages of data that should tell all. ;)

Dear Ski 52 or anyone else
i searched by Dogpile and Google, it confirmed 64MB, dig.com said PC66, which is not easy to find, but the main question is " "Will my PC 133, 128MB work in it ???

It should work. It's kinda like putting Hi-Test gas in your lawn mower, but it should be OK.
I have 1 stick of PC133 128M, a few 64M and a few 32M you are welcome to, if you need them - glad to send them to a good home. Not too big a problem, I'm only 1 county north of you....

you may find out more by using Lavalys Everest it all depends on what info is stored in the SPD on the Dimm but that requires a compatible motherboard/PC to put them into otherwise google is your friend

    Dear Athlonite
What is an SPD?? and Lavalys Everest (been to google)Prefer Cuil or Dopgpile
how do you know if Motherboard?PC are compatible??
I meant a tester for Modules ( like a VAO for volts Ohms Amps, or a Pulse Oxymeter for pulse and oxygen level) battey tester for batteries, etc.

an SPD or serial presence device is an small chip found on all dimms it stores information such as module speed PC 66/100/133 and so on it can also contain setting for CAS you'll often see this mentioned as something like this x-x-x-x where x= number of clock cycles...

Everest is a program for viewing information about your PC's components and can be found here http://www.lavalys.com/products/everest-pc-diagnostics

Unfortunately such a device outside of the manufacturing industry would be very rare to find if at all

Download on your XP machine, transfer to your 98SE machine via CD or USB stick - whichever is appropriate and run it.
