After re-installing win xp sp2 by vendor; i'm facing new problems:-
    1) While booting system restart (up to 5 to 15 times!) again & again from bios setting. How to solve it?
    2) System while booting goes straight bios setting (like any ghost have pressed F8) but does not abe to choose safe mode. Automatically starts in normal mode only.
    3) Ctrl+alt+del- no taskmanger appears.
Shows: task manager enabled: by Admin.
    4) i have 2 hard drives, but suddenly 2nd hard drive appears & disappears automatically!

    Software specification:
    1) NAV BETA 2011 TRIAL v
    2) Systweak's SYSTEM Optimizer 3
    4) Iobit System care Pro 3.6.0
    5) Ccleaner 2.33.1184
    6)Speedbit VDo & download accelator.
    Thanks

Since new installation, NAV have not shown any warning or virus, it shows everything is fine. on other hand Optimizer keep hitting my head by showing 500 traces every time.

Your 2 posts above have absolutely nothing to do with the thread in which you originally posted them. Be grateful that I have moved them to a new thread rather than simply deleting them.

Always start a new thread with your specific issue and never tag onto another thread even if you think your problem is the same or related - which it is not.

I don't think for one minute that your system is booting to the BIOS - what you are seeing is the start options screen after a failed boot.
What sort of disk is this - is it a Recovery Disk which will format the drive or a retail disk. Is the vendor a generally known supplier - Dell, HP, .... ?

Is the disk genuine or a burnt copy?

We need to know if you made a clean install which involved formatting the drive or .....?
I would get rid of these, especially Norton beta - Beta software is incomplete and likely to be full of bugs. I suggest either Microsoft Security Essentials or Avast - both free.

It is quite possible that your computer is heavily infected judging from the problems you listed, but before recommending you to post malware analysis logs in the Malware & Virus Removal forum lets have some answers to the above.

In the meantime it would be a good idea to test your hard drive with the manufacturer's disk diagnostic software *DOS version - boot from CD) .....

    Disk Diagnostic Software ....

    ExcelStore

    Hitachi/IBM

    Samsung

    Seagate, Maxtor, Quantum

    Western Digital

1)Sometime my system restart again automatically while i m working or while booting. How to solve this? is it a hardware or softwae problm?
    2) i unstalled NAV-BETA 2011 AND installed NAV 360 DEGREE 30DAYS TRIAL VERSION. I scanned my system, no virus found!
    3) i came to know that avast does not repair affected file but simply delete it..
    4) MS essential i had installed before but where it woeked or not i m not sure. It does not show any warning or scanning widow at all!
But still have all the above mentioned problems.

You have not answered my questions from post #6 .....
If you want help we need the information requested :)

All the hard drive manufacturers make available disk diagnostic software to test their hard drives - the list of URL's I posted are the main drive manufacturer's.

You need to determine the make of your hard drive and then click on the appropriate URL and download the disk diagnostic software.

If you have a problem with this post the make and model no of your hard drive here.

Do you actually possess an installation disk for XP?

If it is a retail disk it will have Microsoft on the face in holographic form ....

    http://www.microsoft.com/howtotell/

If it is a Recovery disk it will have the computer makers name on it and the word Recovery

If it is a burnt disk on an ordinary CD it is most likely an illegal copy - in this case we are unable to help you.

To test your drive you require the Seagate software - ST340014A is a Seagate drive .....

    You require SeaTools for DOS
