I would like to insert an animated gif file into an email in Outlook 2010. How do I go about doing that?

I would not be sure that you can do this - apparently animated gifs. were not supported in Outlook 2007 and I can find no reference to Outlook 2010 in this respect.

    See this article.

    Outlook 2007 & 2010 don't support GIFs:

All previous versions of Outlook used the Internet Explorer engine for HTML email. The IE engine was removed from 2007+ and Outlook uses Word only for HTML composition and viewing. In essence, non-standard HTML email, though other image formats can be used.

Thank you for the information Pete and Tony. Looks like viewing in browser is the best option for emails received with gif, but there's no easy way to attach a gif file in Outlook 2010. :(
