Hi, Have you had a look in > Control Panel > Add/Remove > scroll down to see if you have Comodo listed?
If it's shown - Remove > Close out and see if it displays next start. Neil.

Was COMODO ever installed on this PC? It is not uncommon for an uninstall program to leave "trash" in a system whether run through the Windows Add/Remove function or through the Programs menu. COMODO is no different than other software in this regard.

You might try this "Cleanup Program ". It is unofficial in that the company (COMODO) did not write it. I have not used it so I cannot speak from experience. There are varying opinions as to how complete it is. Here is the link: Click Here The program is a batch file that removes stuff including registry entries so use it at your own risk!

The above link leads to the COMODO forum in the CIS (firewall+AV) section. You might consider writing a post on this forum. Maybe someone there can help.

As you can see from my signature I use the COMODO firewall but not their anti-virus. I have no association with this program and I am not endorsing it.

What are you running Chkdisk for anyways? Are you having some type of problem? No need to run it unless you think you have a disc problem. What version of Windows are you running also? Doesn't state anywhere in your System specs.

Hummm! Deleting sites... Are you saying you are deleting web site url's from your Bookmarks or Favorites in your browser? These are entries within a file. I don't think chkdsk is an appropriate tool if you are trying to compact a file. I would only use chkdsk if I suspected that one of my my hard drives had a problem such as a bad sector.

Quite frankly, I haven't run chkdsk on one of my PC's in years. Probably back to the Win98 days as it would freeze often. Sometimes it would automatically initiate chkdsk at the next bootup when it crapped out and it would run for hours.

I do run defrag occasionally. Maybe 3-4 times a year.

This is one of the very rare occasions when I would suggest using a Registry Cleaner, specifically the uncrippled trial of jv16 PowerTools

In Find in Registry search for Comodo and delete any entries found - back up the keys when prompted, and test.

I would certainly try to run it again.

chkdsk & scandisk are essentially but only appropriate to the OS's in which they are included. Win 98 did not use NTFS, XP does and therein lies the difference.

petec my mistake but it found over 7k errors, told it to fix it and it did, so far so good. comodo only popped up after chkdsk, and since i wont be running that any more comodo shouldnt be a problem.jv16 says registry is 1 out of 100, not good should i try to do something about that? the computer itself is a 67.

I suspect that the Registry Health and System Health need updating after fixing that no. of errors - I hope you accepted the offer to backup the errors first.

    Rejuvenate the Health results ....

File > Run Quick System Analysis.
