Hey Folks, I am new to creating recovery CD's so pls excuse my ignorance.

I have installed Norton Ghost 2003 which made me create a ghost boot disk. Additionally, I was able to backup my entire system, (4 CD's).

When I go to restore, I have to put in that ghost boot disk and follow some prompts. I would like to NOT have this 'ghost' boot disk and everything on a CD so when I ever have to restore my computer, I just enter my CD set and it will AutoRun, just like the recovery CD's ya get with Compaq, HP or Emachine. Not sure how to setup (i guess it's called 'batch files'?) this operation but i'm sure there is a way, cause if you loose that diskette, you are sunk.

Any recommendations would be sincerely appreciated.

    Thanks again
    Dave

    Hello

IMO you need to make 1/all your CD bootable. This you can do with your burning program (Nero, EasyCDCreator). You also need a Win98Boot Disk diskette, needed by that program to create 2 image files .You also need to copy your Ghost Boot Disk's files to a new created folder on your HD.
If you have/can have a Partition Magic Boot Disk, it's very good to make a copy also to folder.
Finally you start burning your GHo image(s) CD:
1)-images files to make it bootable
    2) & 3) Ghost BD & PM BD
    4)GHO image(s)
Thus you'll be able to boot with your CD directly and then to start Ghost and tell "him" to wich primary DOS partition you wish to restore a selected Win.gho image from your CD.

You may be interested to see a Norton Ghost tutorial.

    regards

    Stefan

PS:I advice you to download and install an outstanding Win98Boot Disk from here which is very fast and load automatically the CD-ROM drivers. The assigned CD-ROM letter is R
