    Hello MIR11,

xp has built in zip file support. All you need to do is go here:

    http://www.input-drivers.com/dgdl.php?driverid=63820

Scroll to the bottom of the page until you see the captcha "type in ".

Type in the two words requested and hit the continue button.

The download "open or save" dialogue box will appear. "Save it" as you would anything you've downloaded in the past.

This will be the zipped file named "memxoptical.zip ".

A stated earlier, xp has built in zip file support. You just click on the memxoptical.zip and either extract it or, once opened, click on the "setup.exe" file inside the zip and follow directions. See my thread numbered #17, in this post, for further description of what happens and what to expect, once installed.

    --------------
Use xp built in zip file support or 3rd party compression program such as winzip, winrar or 7zip. Winzip and winrar are shareware or trialware. 7zip is free. All can be found via a google search.

You have never downloaded a zipped file before? I find this amazing!

For additional information on xp built in zip file support see the following and read carefully:

    Dang!!!! MIR11!!!

I swear that is new to me. I downloaded this not once but several times and never was shown this page.

My deepest sincere apologies. Try this one:
    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NKO65O0P
Again type in captcha on the right. Your going to use free account so wait for the seconds to count down and hit the "regular Download" button.

Same install procedure, as previously given. This is just slightly newer/fancier "browser mouse" software.

Maybe today will offer better luck. :)

Hi MIR11, I have just followed Ann's instruction on her 2nd link, and have downloaded the zip file.
All I need to do now is > Right click on the file and click on Extract All option that appears in the window. When the file is extracted - you can open and > Double click on the Setup file. It should then install the Driver file automatically.
Hope this helps as we don't need to get "Stressed" over things like this.
My grandsons have inadvertently used my Broadband 5GB quota when using their Nana's computer and so I'm having to wait while I surf at 56K modem speed for another 10 days!
Frustrating but not the end of the world. Cheers Neil.;)
ps. my wireless mouse worked straight off when I connected it to XP OS. Scrolls and increases/decreases text size - all drivers necessary are in XP.
