A .pps attachment in Windows mail will not open because of a File association problem. (.pps files are in fact associated with Powerpoint Viewer) If I save the attachment to a file then I can open it. Embarassingly I found a "solution" on this site but it did not work for me .....and I cant find it again.:D

It suggested changing the registry entry for HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PowerpointViewer.SlideShow.11\shell\show
    to
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PowerpointViewer.SlideShow.11\shell\open

    similarly for .......... .SlideShow.12

After a reboot this makes absolutely no difference. I verified that the registry entries were in fact changed.

    Would appreciate help/advice

Thanks for locating the article for me ....

It apparently has not resolved the problem for others either/ or has resolved and had adverse side affects.

Any more advice would be appreciated
