I downloaded and installed the US Army's PC game, America's Army: Operations (a 281 MB download), then found my system wouldn't handle it (1.2 GHz AMD Athlon, 256 MB RAM, Onboard Sis 630/730 Video, Win Me).

I have tried to uninstall it using Control Panel\Add-Remove Programs applet. The Windows InstallShield crashes when I click on the "Remove" button. I have tried reinstalling the game, and the same thing happens-the InstallShield Wizard crashes.

Additionally, I tried using McAfee.com's Application Remover. It tells me it can't even analyze the game application!

    I have System Restore disabled.

Please help me to uninstall this application! The Add/Remove Programs applet works fine on all other uninstalls.........thanx!!!

    Hi Don

Depending on the installer used by the program sometimes the windows add/remove will not work!

Check for an uninstall in the programs entry on the start menu! If it don't have one or it does not work then you have no choice but to manually delete it! But this has to be done properly!

    Here is how!

1st Browse to the game folder in program files note the name of this folder and the most common names used by the files inside of this folder, usually the name used by the main executable!

    2nd Delete this entire tree!

3rd Use find/search to look for the names found in item 1 above! Delete them all! WARNING! If you have any doubt about a particular file belonging to this program do not delete it!

4th Download and install RegCleaner http://www.vtoy.fi/jv16/shtml/regcleaner.shtml
After it loads look for any entries if any, that belong to this program and delete them! This is a great program it has many features and another of these is to clean up the add remove enteries so go to this, find the entry for this program and remove it!

5th This is optional if you feel comfortable with it! Go to start run and run regedit! When it loads hilite my computer and hit ctrl f to find! Now look for the same entries as before and delete them!

    RE: Can't Unstall-Thanks Mike

Thanks Mike I will do exactly as you propose. Have both RegCleaner and TweakUI, should not be a big problem but needed to know if I was missing anything critical or obvious! Will report back on success! Thanks!

    Hello Don

Good! This is the best you can do now!

    But!

    Your message

led me to think that you have tweakui and regclean, both are Microsoft products!

RegClean "ER" is a totally different animal! It is to MS RegClean what a mouse is to an Elephant! Smile!

MS Regclean gives you no info on what it is doing! RegCleaner gives you a very detailed list of specfic registry items!

Download it and look at the 1st page it displays for any remaining residues of the game!

Additionally you may notice entries for others programs you have used and uninstalled in the past! If you know they are gone you can remove these also!

Then go to tools-registry-do them all for a good resistry cleaning!

Wait before you do that, did yout ry uninstalling it after rebooting your computer? sometimes this fixes things. Did you try removing it from the start menu inside the game's program group? sometimes there's a remove thing there. Have you tried running the uninstall program usually called uninstall, uninstall32. it almost always looks like a recycle bin icon or an X to remove or something like that. Also did you try restarting to safe mode? You can do this from clickin on F8 on the top of your keyboard after the bios screen comes up when you first turn on your computer and before the windows me logo splash screen comes up. Everything will look funny and dont worry about that. Try add/remove from there in safe mode, it will probably work. If not try looking in the start menuy for an uninstall in the program group for the game or in the c:\program files..whatever the game folder is called, usually it's under the name of the company is the name of the folder. If all else fails try mik'e suggestions...
