Please disregard. It is a simple security setting issue. Doh!

    Hi All,

The website I work for allows members to put links to local files (as well as web sites) on their personal web page and then access those files by clicking on the links. The link would have the format file://C:\myfiles\filename.ext and would only be available while the meber is using the computer on which the files reside.

Now, with the latest version of IE6 (and Netscape 7 as well), these links no longer work. Nothing happens when the links are clicked. Is this a security feature? Is there a workaround? I like being able to use my personal web page as a virtual desktop and organize my important files for quick access.

Any isights would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    John
