File date stamp changer for multiple files

Hi. I'm looking for a piece of software that will change a large amount of files at once, in relation to the file time stamp, when it was created and modified.

I've tried Attribute Changer 6.0, and for some reason, it knocks my windows XP into a reboot, and Attribute Magic can only change 20 files at a time. The folder in question has 5,000 wave music files in eight sub-folders. I want to change all files to the same date stamp.

Windows is on Drive C, files are on Drive D.

Can I ask why you would want to do this? The date created/modified usually has no purpose other than this is when the file appeared.

 

It eliminates uncertainty when you want to sort your pictures by date taken, not modified. The latter could be days, months, years later.
