I'm running the 64bit Windows 7 and using the 64bit version of Firefox (Namoroka). It keeps telling me I need Java. I ran the java install but Namoroka still doesn't see it. Is there a special way to install it?

,i.e. 3.6.x created from incremental updates. My 3.6.3 is not named Namoroka, and I don't have Win7 64 bit, but rather WinXP 32 bit. I would not know if this matters, but if I select Help|Troubleshooting information, I see a list of extentions. One of them is Java Console, and it is activated. Again, I don't know if this matters or not.
I suggest that you look at this thread. This thread suggests that the 64 bit may be the problem.

I give up. Everything I tried didn't work. According to your link, they couldn't get it to work either. I'll settle for the 32 bit Firefox. Thanks for your help Westside. The 64 bit version didn't really work that much faster anyway.
