Eventlog user in windows 2008

    I saw a Group called Eventlog on Windows 2008 servers which has full access to C:\Windows\System32\Winevt\Logs.But I can not find this user/group in local users and Groups.Somebody can tell me what is this user and where I can find this user ?

    Welcome to WindowsBBS;)

    Every Windows computer has an "Event Viewer" that creates an EventLog. You can see the Event Veiwer by going to start->Run and typing: eventvwr.msc

    Where are you seeing the Event Log?

    Hello Steve ,Yes I know about this..But I never see eventlog user or grup on windows 2003 or any previous version of Windows.If you can check any of W2k8 server properties of C:\Windows\System32\Winevt\Logs you will find this user!
    I hope it is a part of trusted user.But I am not sure!

    EventLog account

    You can add this account by typing in "NT service\EventLog" while adding it to the security list, you won't find it if yiu search for "EventLog ". search for "NT service\EventLog "
