I have an Canon IP4000 printer that is USB-connected to a 64 bit Windows 7 Desktop on my home network.
I have a 64 bit Win 7 laptop and a 32 bit XP3 laptop on the the network and both can print on the IP4000 fine.

I've just added an 32 bit XP3 desktop to the network but cannot get it to print on the IP4000. The desktop can find the IP4000 on the network butwhen I ry to print I get the error message saying that I don't have the correct driver.

I went to the Net and downloaded onto the XP3 desktop a 32 bit XP driver for the IP4000. I even tested it by hard-connecting the IP4000 to the XP3 desktop and used it as a local printer. That worked.

I'm going crazy. I have one XP3 laptop that can accessthe IP4000 server
but the other XP3 PC will not.

    I'd love some help.

    Thanks,

    ian

    I got it.

But I had to hack it.
Copied the Windows System32 SPOOL folder from the working XP3 laptop to the problematic XP3 desktop.
I then re-added the IP4000 using theNetwork Printer option.
    It worked.

This is not the way I'd like to have gotten things working becuause it really doesn't explain to me what the problem was.
