    Hi!
I've just installed and reformatted a new hard drive, which seems to have gone OK. I restart up with Win98 boot disk floppy and with the Windows XP disk in the cdrom drive I attempt to load the operating system but I get the message:

    Drive E: = Driver MSCD001 unit 0

Does anyone know what I need to do to get load the operating system from the CD Rom drive?

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

Check in your BIOS that the boot order is CD-ROM > Floppy > Hard drive

Then reboot with the XP CD inserted and the install should start.

Thanks a million! Such a little thing has caused hours of head scratching :)

It appears to be working now.
