Even though I un-check the box in View>Toolbars>Microsoft Office Live Add-In, and removed Microsoft Office Live from my computer via the Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs, the Toolbar, Microsoft Office Live Add-In, reappears. Also, I have attempted to save to normal.dot without a change.

Have you tried renaming the Normal.dot to something else then do what you want to do? It will make a new Normal.dot.

    Hi,

    Give this a shot:

    Another possibility:
    http://www.revouninstaller.com/

    ---------FYI-------------------

Original directions, at Microsoft, stress the point, that if you do uninstall this component via the add remove programs control, you must show your update list and remove any updates that involved this add-in also

Good idea, but MS Office Live Add-in does not appear in Windows Installer Clean-up dialog box.

There are no MS Office Update entries, which are specific to MS Word. There many entries under update that appear generic to MS Office. I suppose I could reinstall MS Live and delete any updates that eventually appear under that listing.

The program, Revo Un-installing Pro appears to be of no help.

    Thank you for your reply.

As an aside, I have a new LCD 23" Monitor, which replaces a CRT 17" Monitor. I am shocked with the difference in the speed of my old computer. I can reasonably state that it is 20% faster. Go figure. I am looking forward to a brand new desktop and I already installed tie-down chains to keep it on the desk.

It occurred to me that some members may not know the following. I have been stuck not being able to open my saved email. The MS Outlook Express default is *.eml. When one does not have MS Outlook Express available, he/she is out of luck. A few years ago I discovered that I could save with *.txt and of course that is a universal file extension. If this is inappropriate, please delete it.

Have you also tried to disable this addin via word>options>manage addins?

I see you have xp, which version of "office" and of "office live" are using?

I have XP3 OS, and XP Office Pro (2002). Office Live is not installed on my computer. The reference must be in the registry. There is no folder named "Word." In the title bar, Tools>Options... there is nothing referencing addins, therefore, nothing about Office Live. I have searched within the MS Office folder visually and using MS Search and Google Search. Nothing returns with information on Office Live. Thank you.

    Phooey,

I am not sure of office 2002 directions. Let's try below and see if we can get close. Remember this may not be the exact path nor the exact words/commands but should be close enough to get you there but you may have to explore, a wee bit, and click on a few things other than what has been literally given.

    Via mswords menubar:

    --------------------------
    Have a look here:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Startup

Add-ins stored in the Startup folder are loaded automatically when Word starts perhaps if the bugger is here a removal will help.

    Goddess,
Thank you again for your assistance. I have worked at it for over an hour and all is the same. I am not giving up, but I must say that I am taking a break from it, because my new computer will be here with 2010 pre-installed. I will let the next owner worry about it.
