    Hello all,

First time post. Thank you for having me.

We are experiencing a strange little problem. We are running SBS2003. Four XP machines access the server mainly for Exchange, My Document redirect, and a few shared folders. All workstations are located in the same office space.

I will refer to the problem PC as "Store" and the user as "POS ".

A folder located on the server is mapped as drive "Z" at Store PC. When user POS attempts to browse said folder he encounters the "Acces is denied" message. If other user log into Store PC with their respective accounts they are able to browse shared folder.

If user POS is logged into any of the remaining workstations, he can browse the shared folder.

Have deleted POS profile then logged back into Store pc with same result.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Osteele,

I trust you've gone into the Security Settings and allowed access for POS?

And I trust that after creating a new account for POS, you're still having the problem? Even after logging off then on again?

And I trust that after creating a new account for POS you created another account for POS (with a different name) and you're still having the problem?

The only other things that come to mind are making sure the Time Sync is correct; that Access this computer from the network is set; and your Domain Controller is functioning correctly.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

    Hi Osteele,
    Ahhh, the joys of computing!

Please keep us posted as to what you did to solve the problem. Do you think it's the individual's work station that might need "percussive maintenance "?
