The screen on my laptop is set up to shutdown after 20 minutes, which it does. When the screen powers back up the complete taskbar and notification area is missing, the only thing showing at the bottom of the screen is the Start button.
The only way I can get the taskbar and notification area to show is to re-boot the laptop.
Can anyone suggest a way to stop this happening?
My laptop is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit version.

A number of people have reported this problem, even back as far as the beta version of Win7.

Many have fixed it by changing their screensaver to one that came with Windows. Most of those were using a third party screensaver and many of those say they had to uninstall their third party screensaver completely to fix it.

Thanks Miz. Your suggestion worked, I switched to a Windows screensaver and the taskbar is now visible when the screen powers up.
