I recently got an all clean from Broni on the ave.exe virus. I scan my computer every day just to be safe. I used an old virus scanner with up dates Hit man pro. its found stuff when others have not. It found rpcnet.dll and upon investigating its part of a computer lo jack software built by Absolute Software Inc. you can delete all the files exe dll exct but bios puts it back upon reboot. how do i get rid off it. I did not install it and i am in the process of contacting Gateway.

I understand that . I checked with gateway and they provided me with a list of software that was preinstalled before It got to best buy. Bestbuy's consumer relations department told me best buy does not put it on prior to purchase. So how did it get there. I contacted Absolute and they have started a case file because they would like to know how it got here. Absolute told me that best buy does put there software on the computer but when they do Absolute is given a copy of the SN. and customers name.
