.SIF File corrupted or missing

    When trying to update from Windows 98 to XP, using floppies I get this error msge.: ".SIF File corrupted or missing. Value 0 on the line in section [Source Disk Files] with key - SP1.cab -
    Would somebody helpme with this problem. Thank you!

    Not sure what you are doing. You don't need floppies to upgrade from Win98. Just insert the XP CD while 98 is running. If it doesn't pop up, then start it by clicking on setup on the CD in My Computer.

    And the "SP1.cab" makes me think you are somehow trying to apply Service Pack 1 for XP before loading XP. That won't work well at all.
