In Windows 7 I would like to change the action taken when I right click a .jpg file and then select edit from Paint to my picture editor, PSP.

I had this figured out in the XP world but it appears things are different in the Windows 7 registry.

Can someone point me in the right direction for this registry hack?

    Thanks

I know what you mean, but it might be easier to use a little program for it.
    Default Programs Editor http://defaultprogramseditor.com/
Set your choices for viewing, editing etc

Thanks DiggerP, that is a sweet little program. I was able to fix my edit issue on the second try... I'm slow in the evenings I guess.

    Thanks again, much appreciated.

Hi Jim, You're welcome - Glad it did the job :)
I knew exactly what you were talking about.
I've done some editing like that in HKCR.
You need to add the shell subkey under the file type and further add
the subkeys command and the functions ,like open or edit or show etc
But the program is much easier.

    Pete.
