I use 1ClickDVDCopy Pro to back up DVDs. The DVD-43 decrypter utility needed for this app does not work under Win 7/64. I loaded both 1Click and DVD-43 into virtual XP.
Virtual XP however, does not see my DVD drives as burners, only players.
Can't use 1Click under Win 7 without the decryption utility. The apps work together in XP mode but won't write.
There must be a solution/remedy somewhere.

    As I posted before:

The information I have seen from MS suggests that its read only in XP mode. Only if you have a USB (external) burner could you use the Attach function and use it in write (burn) mode.

In checking around further, I notice a free, downloadable product called VMware Player. Information available on the internet suggests that WIndows 7 capabilities should carry over completely if this utility is installed and set up correctly. I will check across the internet before actually loading this product. It was written by a reputable company in Palo Alto, CA which has a host of other sophisticated products and support for professional products but not so much for this freebie.

Well, VMware wants to make money, too. VMPlayer is great for testing purposes, as well as when you have already created a virtual machine configuration and want to run it without the (much) larger VMware Workstation footprint.

Do yourself a favor and uninstall Microsoft's Virtual PC. It's a joke. It's little more than a gimmick to get Windows XP users to upgrade to Windows 7. It has its uses, but they are quite limited, as you quickly found out.

Why don't you try the 30-day trial of VMware Workstation 7 (7.01 is the latest version)? You will be pleasantly surprised how much further it goes compared to a bait-and-switch app such as MS Virtual PC.

There is also VirtualBox from Sun. I can't tell you a whole lot about it, as I have only run it a handful of times. What was obvious on day one, however, is that it is much more advanced than Microsoft's little Virtual PC engine that couldn't.
