Dear all I just had a major failure where I had a broken RAID with two failed hard drives. Luckily I managed to restore everything using EASUS Todo Backup which I recommend strongly to anyone. Only problem I have now, however, is that users cannot connect to their shares and the shares seem to have been 'lost'. Having to reset everything again is a mammoth task. I am starting to think that this is because I didnt restore from an NT backup (system state) however the Easus application backups up everything in fact I was able to boot the OS and login without any problems. Also the 'Workstation' service seems to be working OK too.

Can anyone suggest something as to how I could get the shares back? The server is Windows 2000

    Thanks

    Hey Ramon82,
Did you rebuild a new RAID and what RAID Level was this? The reason am asking this is, some RAID Levels have -ve effect in that you might get unrecoverable errors during RAID reconstruction.
