    Broni: I am at a loss. I was able to download ESTOnline, update the files (after I fixed Java, run the scan. But all I got was a message (scan completed, nothing found), but no report.

    I don't know what I (or my pc is doing incorrectly). HELP

    Thanks a lot for any help (or thoughts) you may have. I am sorry about this problem. Here is a new HJT.

    I found the site for Java. I have the latest version(ver 6 update 20) already on my PC. I tried to uninstall (Java ver 6 update 7), got window "preparing to uninstall ", then next message "the system admin has set policies to prevent this installation ", then "you do not have sufficent access to uninstall Java(TM) 6.7, contact your system administrator. I am logged in as administrator.

    I'll go ahead and do the HiJackThis as you requested. And thanks again!!

    Broni: I have the latest version of Java ver6.20, I tried to uninstall Java ver 6.07, but could not get it done. Windows Installer, I think is the problem. I haven't had time to fix that problem.

    Your computer is clean :)

    1. Turn off System Restore:

    - Windows XP:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Right-click the My Computer icon, and then click Properties.
    3. Click the System Restore tab.
    4. Check "Turn off System Restore ".
    5. Click Apply.
    6. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click Yes to do this.
    7. Click OK.
    - Windows Vista and 7:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Right-click the Computer icon, and then click Properties.
    3. Click on System Protection under the Tasks column on the left side
    4. Click on Continue on the "User Account Control" window that pops up
    5. Under the System Protection tab, find Available Disks
    6. Uncheck the box for any drive you wish to disable system restore on (in most cases, drive "C: ")
    7. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click "Turn System Restore Off" on the popup window to do this.
    8. Click OK

    2. Restart computer.

    Broni: I have downloaded WOT and have also added bleepingcomputer.com to my bookmark file. I am now reading at bleeping computer.

    Could you jplease answer a question for me, I just received an update from Apple. Before I install this update, is there a way to check it out with MalwareBytes before I install it. I need a way to check out these types of downloads, updates, etc.

    Any help or advice?? Thanks a bunch!!

    You can scan any file, either with your AV program, or MBAM, or both, just by right clicking on a file and selecting type of scan.

    How is computer doing at the moment?
    Any issues?
