i got a stop error message a few days ago, and safe mode was working then. the error screen told me to do these things

disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation, or backup utilities. check ur Hardrive configuration, and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for Hardive corruption and then restart your computer

    Technical info: 0x00000024

    ( 0x001902FE, 0XBACEB484, 0xBACEB180, 0x89CC4889 )

in safe mode i went to my computer and started the chkdsk there, would start on the next reboot. but after i turn on the computer and click safe mode, the screen stays on the 'safe mode loading screen'

and when i go in safe mode, if i dont do the "press esc to cancel loading STPD.sys" then it'll go to the stpo error screen

If everything's ok then try this, it worked with me:

Login in safemode, run, cmd, cd\, cd windows\system32\drivers, rename stpd.sys to stpd_old.sys.

    Reboot.

    Hope it helps you.

That is only likely to help if Daemon Tools v4 is installed.

    stpd.sys is a Daemon File

Edit - I see from the original post that the file is present - well spotted :)

If it works then you'll receive an error message stating that Daemon Tools will not be able to run without loading stpd.sys. Been there before.

Thing is: If you see this message... you have your problem solved and you're running windows. :p
