Can you mix IDE & SATA Hard Drives in a PC?

I just discovered my motherboard only has one IDE port & I have a HDD & the DVD on that. I also have 4 SATA ports so can I add a SATA drive as well, or am I best not mixing them?

    Thanks :confused:Terri

    Most certainly .....

For example my desktop has 3 x SATA drives, 1x SATA DVD-RW drive and 1x PATA (EIDE) DVD-RW drive.

Thanks PeteC. I think i'll try adding a Sata drive... once I've got the other problems sorted out.

    Regards
