Cannot Open .pps Attachments

I do not have Microsoft Office so I have downloaded "Microsofts PowerPoint Viewer" that now exists in my programs list. When I get an attachment in "Microsoft Mail" with the .pps extension I can open it if I select the "Save Attachments" which is then saved in the PowerPoint Viewer that I can then access. How can I make a path to the .pps extension by just clicking on the "Open Attachment" without getting the message "This file does not have a program associated with it for preforming this action. Create an association in the Set Associations Control Panel "

Thanks so much for your help. After many tries to get your suggested link to solve the problem with no solution, I tried another suggestion from a different source and it worked fine. Thanks for your assistance. It's most appreciated from people like me that need a little help from time to time!

 

Try with OpenOffice , is a free software.
