    It is a distinct possibility. SRWare Iron (aka The Tinfoil Hat Browser) may be a good alternative browser to consider. It is very light, fast & you don't have Planet Google to worry too much about.

    It's interesting that Site Advisor gives spy-botsd.com a green rating yet WOT has a red rating. I know for a fact that this is rogueware. It may not be totally malicious but it is dishonest. I only wish I'd known about WOT earlier.

    using WOT

    I have been using WOT for sometime now on FF and IE and Google Chrome. I am impressed by it and to some degree feel protected by it. I have no problems with slowdowns or any other issues. Prior to this I used McAffee SiteAdvisor, but it was slow to add sites. WOT is a much superior application IMHO.
